Make Your Own Full Body Armor Suit at Home
The crime rates these days soared higher each year and we cannot just be complacent about these facts. We need to do something to protect ourselves and our family. You can either buy your own full body armor suit or make it yourself if budget is your concern at the moment.
Here is a step-by-step instruction as to how you can make full body armor suit. 1. You will need a copious amount of cotton, it can be new or you can cut old shirts. You also need to buy polyester resin and fiberglass resin. Prepare something heavy like a rock, a bowling ball or a dumbbell. A scissor is also needed for cutting stuff. 2. On your concrete floor or sturdy table, lay 10 pieces of 10”x30” sheets of cotton. Then flatten them with using a heavy material like your bowling. Once they are tightly compressed, saturate it with polyester resin. Do this to the 10 pieces to your 10”x30” sheets of cotton and then put all on top of each other. Then re-flatten them again altogether. Repeat this process until your cotton sheet or armor is roughly 50 sheets deep and 3.5 inches thick. For added protection, you may add alloy or steel or aluminum plates in between every 10 inches of your cotton sheet. However, keep in mind that adding this elements can make the weight heftier. 3. Then let it dry for 24 hours in a warm and dry location. 4. When dry, wrap it in a sheet of material and seal it with super glue. 5. The end result is a 4 inch thick stack of hardened resin fabric, but if you used an additional metal plate then it should be thicker. 6. Then apply 1 coat of fiberglass resin at the front, back and sides every 3 hours for 9 hours and let the plate dry for another 24 hours. 7. When you have 3 coats of fiberglass resin already and the plate is completely dry, gently sand the surface until smooth. That’s it! You just made your armor. All you need is a plate carrier and make it into a full body armor suit. |
