Today, if law enforcers are not fully protected with the clothes they wear, considering a full body armor suit can ensure safety and protection towards their line of work. Protective gears may vary depending on the kind of hazards they are exposed to or vulnerable to experiencing.
So what does body armor consists of that can repel the impact of ballistic flight? The body armor or bullet proof vest consists of a variety of materials such as a panel, advanced plastic polymers which can either be Kevlar or Spectra and Twaron or Bynema. The panel which is usually made from a polyester/cotton blend or nylon inserted inside a fabric shell is not much of a comfort but is the material that provides protection. The shell facing the body is made more comfortable though by sewing an absorbent material called kumax for ease of mobility. It may also have nylon padding for added protection and comfort. For full body armor suit intended for a much dangerous scenarios, built-in pouches are added to hold plates made from metal or ceramic and bonded to a fiberglass material. These types of vests can also provide protection against car accidents or from sharp weapons. There are more other devices attached to the vest. At times you find elastic webbing, metallic buckles or Velcro closures secured with straps. People who wants to wear this protective gear should understand that putting this on may use up more of their energy and oxygen as opposed to their regular clothing. You should be well aware that wearing this could lead to heat stress and dehydration. A person must also bear in mind that air circulation is different than having no body armor and perspiration may not stop nor evaporate, hence it is pertinent to monitor your work schedules while wearing such body protection. You need to have adequate time to rest and cool down. Otherwise your health may be compromised. What you can do when wearing your full body armor suit is to place a cool wet towel on the back of your neck this can lower your body temperature by 2 to 3 degrees immediately. Importantly, drinking several glasses of water prior to work schedule can be helpful in eluding dehydration. |
